Everything started with a simple idea: marking on a map the places we had visited and keeping the memories from every trip alive.
But it also began with something even more important: a teenager's excitement about learning how to build a mobile app.
Behind this project is a small but passionate team: a software engineer with years of experience who has never lost the drive to keep learning, and his son — a curious and passionate young man with even more eagerness to learn.
The original idea seemed simple:
We want to build an app to preserve travel memories, and be able to relive them, revisit them, and share them.
What began as a small project quickly taught us that building an app is far more complex than it seems:
Finding a name, designing a logo, creating a visual identity, crafting the user experience, writing the code, setting up databases, ensuring user privacy and security, preparing the launch, developing a marketing strategy… behind every screen there are hundreds of decisions.
But the real value of this project appeared along the way.
For Carlos, it became a unique opportunity to spend time with his son and teach him about software development, technology, business, and how digital products are created.
For Álvaro, it has been a way to discover how much work, creativity, and continuous learning exist behind every app we use every day.
Building and maintaining a project like this also comes with ongoing costs.
